Our case study – A Farm may sound a bit generic at first glance, but the project itself was far from ordinary. This particular job involved a unique and challenging task that required a high level of precision and manual labor. The job site was a farm, where we were tasked with addressing soil contamination caused by an unfortunate tractor fire. Under an insurance claim, we were required to remove the top layer of soil from a 20-meter by 20-meter patch of land and replace it with new, uncontaminated soil.

The contaminated soil was filled with oil residue from the tractor fire, making it unsuitable for future use and a hazard to the surrounding environment. Our team took on the responsibility of digging out the contaminated soil and replacing it with fresh soil, which would provide a safe and healthy foundation for any future planting or agricultural use.

What set this project apart was the decision to carry out the entire job by hand. Instead of using heavy machinery such as a micro digger, which could have sped up the process, we opted to rely on traditional tools like spades and forks. While this approach may have seemed more time-consuming, it allowed us to maintain a high level of control over the work and avoid any disruption to the surrounding area.

In hindsight, we can acknowledge that completing this task by hand did take quite a long time. The team worked tirelessly, digging and removing the contaminated soil layer by layer and carefully ensuring that no residual oil remained in the ground. Once the contaminated layer was fully removed, we replaced it with new, clean soil to restore the land’s functionality. This process was physically demanding, but the result was a restored patch of land, free of contamination and ready for future use.

Our Opinion on this insurance claim work

This case study highlights our commitment to quality, even when faced with more labor-intensive methods. While machinery might have provided a faster solution, we believed that the hand-digging method ensured the highest standard of care for the land and minimised the potential for any environmental damage. The job proved to be a rewarding challenge, and despite the time it took, we were proud of the outcome and the way our team approached it with determination and expertise. That’s our case study – a farm.
